Operations Analyst

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze standard and customized PBM coding requests and work with internal teams to obtain accurate and complete plan documentation needed to code client intent into the pharmacy claim adjudication system in a timely manner.

  • Implement new and maintain existing client hierarchies, benefit plans, pricing, formularies, and networks in the pharmacy claim adjudication system, consistent with the direction and intent set forth by the client or MaxCare.

  • Maintain the MaxCare formularies and clinical program offerings in the pharmacy claim adjudication system.

  • Perform pre- and post-implementation claim testing and other configuration quality reviews to ensure accurate claim adjudication and adherence to standard and custom design requirements.

  • Identify discrepancies, inaccuracies, and unintended consequences, and take corrective action.

  • Research and respond to claims processing and system configuration inquiries from internal departments.

  • Proactively identify setup service issues and escalate to Operations Director for immediate review and resolution.

  • Accurately configure non-adjudicated services and fees across multiple systems.

  • Support QA and Audit staff and functions.

  • Project Management.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in pharmacy benefits or pharmacy/medical processing experience.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit plans including copays and out-of-pockets, drug coverage, accumulators, pharmacy network, billing/payment methodologies, formulary, and PBM industry standards
  • Prior PBM experience in a benefit configuration/setup role.
  • Experience in claim testing and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of PBM configuration system(s)

Customer Service Manager

Summary:

This position leads MaxCare’s Customer Service function, owning the member experience, team performance, and service standards as the department scales. The Customer Service Manager builds and sustains the high-touch, member-first service that differentiates MaxCare, ensuring members receive timely, accurate, and empathetic support across every contact. Team performance, service quality, and member satisfaction will be key elements of success.

Essential Job Functions:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the customer service representative team.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and daily call and contact coverage.
  • Train new representatives on MaxCare plans, systems, and service standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set individual goals, and support career growth.

Service Quality & Operations

Clinical Services Director

Summary:

The Clinical Services Director is responsible for the management and coordination of clinical programs within MaxCare. This role oversees clinical services personnel, optimizes daily prior-authorization workflows, assigns client-specific reporting and inquiries, and implements quality assurance and quality-improvement strategies across MaxCare’s clinical programs.

Essential Job Functions:

Departmental Leadership & Strategy

  • Set the clinical services department’s strategic goals, mission, and vision annually to align with MaxCare’s strategic goals, mission, and vision.
  • Continuously assess, evaluate, and communicate clinical services personnel’s performance against individual and departmental goals and their job descriptions.
  • Oversee clinical pharmacists and technicians regarding work performed and administered within MaxCare’s clinical programs.

 

Clinical Program & Utilization Management Oversight

  • Support the clinical services team in the review and decision of prior-authorization requests based on clinical criteria, per national, state, and internal MaxCare standards.
  • Develop and maintain drug utilization management programs and policies, guidelines and criteria governing prior authorizations, appeals, quantity limits, step therapies, age/gender limits, and other clinical programs.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality-improvement strategies for MaxCare’s clinical programs.
  • Continuously evaluate ways to streamline and improve the quality of the drug utilization management process.

 

Client Consultation & Industry Trends

  • Work with the account management and sales team to provide clinical program consultation and recommendations to clients for benefit implementation.
  • Collaborate with clients and account managers to design custom management programs, including cost-savings analysis, claims-data analysis, and clinical recommendations.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in formulary utilization-management strategies and the broader healthcare industry.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of pharmacy students, interns, and/or residents.
  • Perform other duties and activities as determined by the PPOk Chief Executive Officer or MaxCare Vice President, to support, advocate, and promote independent pharmacy.
Minimum Qualifications For Consideration:
  • CREDENTIALS
  • Active pharmacist licensure in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy, no restrictions, and graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Residency trained plus a minimum of one year of clinical experience (or, without residency, a minimum of three years of clinical experience).
  • Active pharmacy preceptor license.
  • EDUCATION
  • Doctor of Pharmacy or B.S. Pharmacy degree from an accredited university.
